REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– In a new Nintendo Direct video announcement today, Nintendo revealed another massive list of news for its Nintendo 3DS and Wii U systems.
Nintendo 3DS News

A New Game in The Legend of Zelda Series: Nintendo developers are working on a new game set in the world of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, which launched for Super NES in 1992. The game makes use of the 3D abilities of Nintendo 3DS, and allows Link to become a drawing and move along walls. A 3D video of the new game is now available to download in the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS. The game is scheduled to launch this holiday season.
Yoshi’s Island: The third installment in the beloved franchise is making its way to Nintendo 3DS. Yoshi and Baby Mario are back with flutter jumps, ground pounds and egg throws, plus a host of new actions that use the unique features of Nintendo 3DS. More details about the game, as well as launch timing, will be announced in the future.
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team: The game takes place on a mysterious island, and challenges Mario to go between the real world and Luigi’s dreams to rescue Princess Peach. The game will be available in stores and in the Nintendo eShop on Aug. 11.
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D: This hand-held update of the smash-hit for Wii adds eight new stages that players can enjoy after they have completed the main game, as well as a New Mode optimized for hand-held play with new items and mechanics. The game launches in stores and in the Nintendo eShop on May 24.
Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move: This Nintendo eShop exclusive challenges players to place tiles on the bottom screen to guide the Mini Marios to their goal on the top screen. The game offers more than 180 stages in four different modes. Players can also create and share their own stages, and play those created by other players around the world. The game will launch on May 9.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf Hardware Bundle: A special Nintendo 3DS XL system featuring designs from Animal Crossing: New Leaf that comes pre-installed with the new game will be available on launch day, June 9, at a suggested retail price of $219.99.
Mario Golf: World Tour: Players who connect their Nintendo 3DS systems to the Internet can play competitive real-time multiplayer matches against others across the globe. They can also use the community feature to find others to golf with. The game is scheduled to launch this summer.
The Legend of Zelda – Two Classic Games: The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons will soon be available for the first time since their original release on Game Boy Color in 2001. Originally developed by Capcom, the games are headed to the Virtual Console service for Nintendo 3DS. The games are interconnected: Playing one unlocks secrets in the other. The games are scheduled to launch in the Nintendo eShop on May 30.
Party Like it’s the Year of Luigi: A new game in the Mario Party series is scheduled to launch for Nintendo 3DS this winter. The game features seven different game boards, each with its own set of rules. The game offers 81 new mini-games that test speed, concentration and luck. In addition to the board game elements, players will be able to play mini-games exclusively or try their hands at a 30-floor tower climb, AR Card games and StreetPass battles.
Bravely Default: This role-playing game from Square Enix adds a new risk-reward twist to the genre: Players can skip a turn in battle to do more damage in later turns. The game includes AR functions, multiple endings and unique wireless features. Nintendo has partnered with Square Enix to publish the game in North America in 2014.
Professor Layton is Back: The third game in the second Professor Layton trilogy, Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy, includes more than 500 puzzles and is scheduled for a 2014 launch.
A Nintendo eShop Trio from LEVEL-5: LEVEL-5 has assembled a collection of Japan’s top developers to create original games that will be headed to the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS soon. THE STARSHIP DAMREY, from Kazuya Asano and Takemaru Abiko, puts players in a suspenseful adventure where they will have to search for any information available to discover the truth about their circumstances. In BUGS vs. TANKS! from Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune, players control a tiny customizable tank in battle against swarms of giant bugs. In Kaz Ayabe’s ATTACK OF THE FRIDAY MONSTERS! A TOKYO TALE, players will take the role of a young boy who lives where the giant monsters from Japan’s 1970s TV shows come to life every Friday.
Shin Megami Tensei 4: When this game launches on July 16 from ATLUS, every copy in the initial shipment will be a Limited Edition Box Set that includes a 176-page Strategy & Design Book containing the official starter strategy guide and full-color artwork ranging from concept art to in-game pieces to never-used designs; the Shin Megami Tensei Music Collection CD that offers tracks specially selected from across the 20-plus-year history of the SMT series; and a deluxe-sized Collectible Slipcase featuring key art designed by character designer Masayuki Doi.

Wii U News

You Are Not Dreaming – This is Real: Nintendo fans rejoice: EarthBound is coming to the Wii U Virtual Console this year. The original game was created by Shigesato Itoi and released on Super NES in 1995.
New Super Luigi U: Wii U owners who purchase this downloadable content for New Super Mario Bros. U (a copy of the game is required) will get 82 updated stages and a new adventure featuring Luigi, who can jump higher than Mario, yet has trouble stopping after a dash. Many stages start with only 100 seconds on the timer, and quicker stages are populated with many obstacles. New Super Luigi U is scheduled to be released this summer during the Year of Luigi.
System Update: Next week’s update will add new functions and enhance existing ones. It shortens loading times when switching between applications or returning to the Wii U Menu.
New Features: Shortly after the system update, Nintendo will launch the Virtual Console service and Wii U Panorama View.
Game & Wario: Each game in Game & Wario uses the Wii U GamePad in a unique way. Game & Wario will be available in stores and the Nintendo eShop on June 23.
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Update: A game update for the Wii U version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate from Capcom is now available for download. Furthermore, the force impact system enhances the power of truck moves and the Hit Stick, and creates more realistic and dynamic reactions when a runner attempts to stiff-arm a defender.

A renewed focus on the college-style option game allows you to play true to your team with over 30 new option types, all optimized for a true college football experience. Utilize the Spread Option, Zone Read and more to stymie defenses and put big points on the board. NCAA Football 14 highlights key defenders before the snap so fans can read their movements to know when to handoff, pitch or keep the ball. Play Action Option plays have also been evolved to make it easier than ever to fake the run, set up the throw and burn overly-aggressive defenders.

Additional information on NCAA Football 14 Playbooks will be released on the following dates:

· Presentation (to be released 4/18) – NCAA Football 14 gets you closer to the action than ever before and tells the story of every game. Feel the drama of college football from a whole-new perspective.

· NCAA Football Ultimate Team (to be released 5/15) – The much-beloved mode comes to the college game, allowing you to build up an unstoppable team.

· Dynasty (to be released 5/28) – There’s no single path to success in college football, so build up your program into a powerhouse to fit your strengths and style of play by utilizing the brand-new Coach Skills.

· Play a Season (to be released 6/17) – Focus purely on the on-field action and take your favorite team to a bowl game.

Fans are encouraged to keep up to date by visiting the NCAA Football website, Facebook, and Twitter for exclusive assets and unique insights into all this year’s new features. College football enthusiasts can also get involved in the conversation by tweeting with the hashtag #PLAYTRUE.

Your Infinite Adventure as a Pokémon Awaits in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity

Discover Portals to Additional Dungeons Using the Nintendo 3DS Camera and Team Up in a New Multiplayer Mode

REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– For years, players have enjoyed exploring the Pokémon-filled worlds of the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series. With Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, launching March 24 exclusively for Nintendo 3DS, the series has evolved. In addition to becoming a Pokémon and exploring Mystery Dungeons, players can now build their own Pokémon Paradise, discover Magnagates that can be unlocked using the Nintendo 3DS camera, participate in a new cooperative multiplayer mode and even purchase additional content to expand the Pokémon experience.

“The Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games give Pokémon fans new ways to enjoy their favorite characters,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity is the first entry in the series on Nintendo 3DS, with features that just aren’t possible on any other system.”

Players can choose to go on their adventure as one of five fan-favorite Pokémon: Pikachu, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott or Axew. Many of the Pokémon that populate the game are from the Unova region, the region featured in the Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version games. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity features more than 20 distinct Mystery Dungeons that change every time they are entered, granting players and their Pokémon a near-infinite amount of adventurous possibilities. When not exploring Mystery Dungeons, players can interact with other Pokémon and build their own Pokémon Paradise with various shops and facilities.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity takes advantage of many of the unique features of the Nintendo 3DS hand-held system. Players will instantly be drawn into the 3D visuals that pop with vibrant colors and polished design. Using the Nintendo 3DS camera, players can scan circular objects in the real world to unlock Magnagates, special portals that lead to additional Mystery Dungeons. When tagging another Nintendo 3DS system using StreetPass, players can revive other players’ fallen Pokémon and receive rewards for their virtual generosity. And for the first time in the series, players can team up with others via a local wireless connection to explore special Mystery Dungeons with up to three other players in cooperative Companion Mode. All experience and treasure earned in this local-multiplayer mode are carried over to the main single-player game.

Starting this Sunday, players can also purchase additional content for Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity. The downloadable content includes new Mystery Dungeons to explore, new items to collect and new Pokémon to interact with. As a special treat for fans, the first dungeon, the Poké Forest Mystery Dungeon, will be free to download beginning launch day through April 30. Three additional downloadable Mystery Dungeons will also be available to purchase at launch, with more dungeons available regularly throughout April. A downloadable demo version of the game is currently available in the Nintendo eShop.

Nintendo is also offering a special bonus for people who buy both a Nintendo 3DS XL system and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity. Anyone who registers a Nintendo 3DS XL system and either Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity or Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon with Club Nintendo between March 21 and April 30 will receive a code to download one of five Nintendo 3DS games for free: Super Mario 3D Land, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone!, Star Fox 64 3D or Freakyforms Deluxe: Your Creations, Alive!

Kick Off The Year of Luigi with Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon

Luigi Takes the Spotlight in a New Spooky Adventure Exclusively for Nintendo 3DS

NOTE: Multimedia available here

REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– When there are ghosts that need capturing, puzzles that need solving and haunted mansions that need exploring, who is the best little brother for the job? Luigi, that’s who! Luigi may be afraid of, well, everything, but that fear isn’t going to stop him when the Dark Moon has shattered and he is the only one who can retrieve the missing pieces. Launching exclusively for Nintendo 3DS on March 24, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon is the sequel to 2001’s much-loved Luigi’s Mansion and features more mansions, more ghosts and more Luigi!

Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon marks the beginning of the Year of Luigi. The yearlong celebration for Mario’s green-clad younger brother also includes the launch of Mario & Luigi: Dream Team and Mario Golf: World Tour for Nintendo 3DS, as well as the New Super Luigi U downloadable content for New Super Mario Bros. U on Wii U.

“The Year of Luigi starts with a bang as Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon delivers an original adventure starring Mario’s not-so-brave brother,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Packed with multiple mansions to explore, secrets to discover and a new multiplayer mode to enjoy, the game is a fitting tribute to one of gaming’s most unsung heroes.”

In Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, Luigi must explore several unique mansions, all stunningly realized with colorful 3D visuals that make each haunted hallway and atmospheric detail look better than ever. Each mansion is filled with ghosts for Luigi to capture, clever puzzles to challenge his skills and piles of treasure for him to collect. Equipped with his trusty Poltergust 5000, a vacuum cleaner designed to suck up ghosts, and a variety of new abilities like the secret-revealing Dark-Light Device, Luigi must complete each of the mansions’ multiple missions in his quest to find the pieces of the Dark Moon. These missions can be replayed many times, encouraging players to earn a higher rank by collecting more treasure and losing less health.

All the mansions in the game are packed with environmental details that can be manipulated to help Luigi conquer challenges. Puzzles can be solved by spinning the hands of a clock with the Poltergust 5000, or precious coins can be uncovered by flipping over a rug. Almost every object in the mansions’ many rooms can be interacted with.

New to the series are fun multiplayer modes that can be enjoyed with up to four players using local wireless, download or online play. In Hunter Mode, players team up to catch all the ghosts on each floor of a haunted tower. Rush Mode finds players escaping a floor before time runs out, while Polterpup Mode focuses on a frantic search for hidden ghost dogs. Additional Nintendo 3DS systems and games, as well as wireless broadband Internet access, may be required for multiplayer modes.

As a special promotion for anyone who has not yet purchased a Nintendo 3DS XL system, those that register both a Nintendo 3DS XL and Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon via Club Nintendo between Feb. 14 and April 30 will receive a code to download one of these five great games for free in the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS: Super Mario 3D Land, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone!, Star Fox 64 3D or Freakyforms Deluxe: Your Creations, Alive! For more information, visit http://club2.nintendo.com/3ds-xl-promo.

In a special treat for fans, the Nintendo World store in New York will be hosting a launch event for Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon on March 23 starting at 5 p.m. At the event, the second floor of the store will be transformed into a haunted mansion full of puzzles and games, featuring playable demos of the game, photo opportunities with Luigi and fun giveaways (while supplies last). Fans will also be able to purchase a copy of Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon during the event, a day before the game releases in retail stores and in the Nintendo eShop.
