2010 Hess Jet Game Debuts on Facebook, iPad/iPod App to Launch December 15
NEW YORK (November 23, 2010) – Hess Corporation introduces the Hess Jet Game, a virtual new chapter in its 46-year-old Hess Toy Truck holiday tradition. Based on the 2010 Hess Toy Truck, the Hess Jet Game takes the Hess Toy Truck to a whole new level, providing fans with a fun, highly-engaging online gaming experience.
Available for free, the Hess Jet Game is accessible on the Hess Express Facebook page: www.facebook.com/HessExpress. A free iPod/iPad app of the game will also be offered on iTunes on December 15.
The Hess Jet Game is a race/pursuit based game that allows players to perform different stunts and race against their best time. Players must conquer challenges within each graphically striking course to advance to the next level. Island, Desert and Snow make up the three different courses.
A multiplayer function will allow players to connect and challenge other players. Badges, achievements and challenges can be posted to users’ Facebook Wall. Players are judged on three components: speed, control, and stunt style. Barrel roll, corkscrew, vertical flip, evade and flying sideways are some of the options available as performing tricks.
The Hess Toy Truck has been a holiday tradition since 1964, and is one of the longest running toy brands on the market. The 2010 Hess Toy Truck features a jet aircraft with more sounds than ever and the first use of motion-activated sound atop of a flatbed trailer with hydraulic lift and runway lights that doubles as a launch pad.
