GAMERS SUPPORT CURE FOR BREAST CANCER

November 15th, 2010 — The National Academy of Video Game Testers and Reviewers (NAViGaTR) has announced a special event: C3 at Sea. The event sets sail on Royal Caribbean’s premiere vessel Enchantment of the SeasR, leaving Baltimore, Maryland on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, for a five-night cruise returning Thursday, Nov. 3. Gamers and supporters will head to the Bermuda Triangle on Halloween for a Cosplay Caucus Cruise (C3).

Donations of $100 from every ticket sold will be contributed to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists, in honor of the person named by the ticket holder.

Fans will walk the red carpet in costume (cosplay) to compete for several best dressed honors, then participate in a caucus election to determine the winners in NAVIGATR’s first ever “Best Games of the Decade” ceremony, in honor of NAViGaTR’s tenth anniversary.

Onboard activities will also include rock climbing, bungee trampoline, and a roast of infamous “Gaming in the Clinton Years” narrator George Wood.

Each year, 640 qualified voters determine the recipients of the NAViGaTR AWARDS, recognizing interactive entertainment industry achievements in the fields of art, technology, and production. For the first time ever, voting will be open to the public to select the best work from a decade of previous winners.
