Friday’s Featured Member – 10 Minutes, 10 Questions
We’ll be running this feature every Friday so you can learn a little more about the members.
This week we’re interviewing Karen @ 3 Garnets And 2 Sapphires.
- How long have you been blogging?
“I began blogging in March of 2008, so that would make it almost two years. That reminds me that my blogoversary is coming up. I wonder if I should do something special on my blog to celebrate?”
- How many game consoles do you have in your house?
For gaming consoles, we have two . . . a Wii and a PS2. For handheld gaming systems, we have a Leapster 2 and a Didj.
- What’s your favorite game console?
That would have to be the Wii by far because it allows players to get up and moving with or without a gaming pad.
- What’s your favorite type of video game?
I use to enjoy online role playing games very much, but found I no longer had the time to play after my first born turned 6 months old. I very much enjoy puzzle games like Tetris in spite of their addictive nature.
- What’s the first video game you recall playing?
The first video game I recall playing was on an Atari console at my friend’s house. It was either PacMan or Circus Atari. I must have been 7 or 8 years old.
- What’s your favorite video game of all time?
I have to say my favorite game would be the original Asheron’s Call, which was my first online role playing game. I’m not sure I’ve found one particular console game I have become addicted to yet, but give me time. We’ve only had our Wii for about one month.
- What game do you wish you could be better at?
Any game that involves driving. I am the person who is crashing into the guard rail while driving in the wrong direction.
- Who’s your favorite person to play a game with or against?
Well, I have to say that it is more fun to play with my 6yr old son because he can be silly sometimes and truly does not become too competitive. My husband is more fun to play against because I can allow my competitive side to show itself.
- Are there any old games that you’d like to see updated and released today?
Gosh, there was a whole decade and a half in the middle of my life where I did not pay any attention to video games. There was a NHL Ice Hockey game for the original Nintendo that I use to love, but they probably have updated and released that game multiple times already.
- If you could pick any one game to review that you’ve never played, what would it be?
Punch-Out!! seems like it would be tons of fun and would offer a great workout too.
Come back next Friday for another interview with one of our members.

Love reading Karen’s blog! And I’m so glad to hear I’m not the only one crashing into walls on every driving game!
Staci – Me too! I am awful at driving games, I crash so much that I end up laughing hysterically! – valmg
Oh man, I love Tetris too! Fun interview!
Tetris was another of my faves! – valmg
I think this is great! I love to get to know other bloggers!
Wow, those bring back some memories!
Karen you sound like a hard school gamer ! Cool!
I don’t know about that. That’s a bit of a stretch. LOL!!
This is a great idea that I am sure will grow. Bloggers for bloggers is the best way to get to know each other.
